I get it.
Things are difficult at the moment and when you’re in the early stages of building your bridal hair and makeup business, you may not be able to invest heaps of cash into marketing.
But this is actually easily fixed.
If you don’t have money to spare for marketing, then what you have to do is be willing to invest more of your TIME.
As a bridal hair and makeup artist, you can use social media as your portfolio. Take multiple pictures when you do someone’s hair and makeup, from different angles so you’ll then have a bank of images you can upload across a few weeks. With each image upload, you can focus on and explain a different element of the work. Think of your socials as your shop window!
You can also create more content if you put the time in. Creating a podcast is a great idea and another way to share your services. You can invite past clients to come onto your show and re-visit their wedding day with you, which will build your trust and credibility in the industry and to potential clients.
Content is king and having a backlink to your website or social media can really drive traffic! To achieve this, you can write a guest blog for another wedding supplier. You need to make sure you’re bringing something unique to the table that they haven’t seen or heard before that will bring value to their audience. Once published, you can cross-promote the piece across both your social media channels and theirs to get the most traffic.
You can offer your services for free, in exchange for promotion. For example, you can contact local wedding venues and ask them if there are any events or open days coming up where you can give people a free makeover, in exchange for a mention on their social media. It’s not something likely that you’d usually get, and doing this especially for a good wedding venue is well worth it, for the heaps and heaps of potential brides checking it out – and seeing your name associated!
Time is money. Don’t waste it. Get marketing!
Get ahead in the bridal hair and makeup artist business and visit my shop for a wealth of information!
